The earliest people who visited Wilson Butte Cave around 12,000 years ago may have hunted now-extinct animals including mammoth and camel. However, since then the vast majority of animal bones are from bison with a few antelope. Therefore it appears that bison were the main source of calories and proteins for the people camping in the cave.
