The two winter village occupations are radiocarbon dated to 8th and 15th centuries AD. However the earliest seasonal camp dated to the 1st century AD. Given the very limited area that was excavated (estimated to be about .001% of the total site area) numerous other villages and camps probably exist. And, during the initial archaeological survey artifacts that date back to 12,000 years ago were encountered. Therefore, it appears that the area has been an important location since the earliest people moved into the Snake River Plain.
