The principal source of food for the people camping at the shelters was the hunting of big game animals. The animal bone preserved in the site was mostly bighorn sheep although a few deer bones were also recovered. In addition to the big game bone there are also a few specimens of wolf, wolverine, marmot, porcupine, eagle and hawk bones. We do not know for certain if these bones represent animals killed by humans or simply because they too periodically occupied the shelters.
