The Dagger Falls archaeological site was excavated by the Idaho State University Archaeological Field School under the direction of Richard N. Holmer during the summer of 1988. The excavation was prompted by pending construction activities to upgrade the campground toilets, water system and vehicle barriers. The results of the excavations are published in Idaho Archaeologist volume 12, number 1, pages 3 through 13 entitled Dagger Falls: A Preliminary Report by Richard N. Holmer in 1989; and in the report submitted to the US Forest Service in 1993 entitled Excavations at Dagger Falls (10VY76), Center for Ecological and Environmental Anthropology, Reports of Investigations Number 93-1, Department of Anthropology, Idaho State University by Kim J. Torgler.
