DESCRIPTION
Large leaf-shaped spear or dart points with characteristic "flutes" removed on both surfaces from the base. The flute is usually less than half the total length of the point. The edges of the lower one-quarter of the point near the base are usually ground smooth.

Clovis – wherever they are found throughout the Americas they are called "Clovis," named after the location of the first scientific excavations of them near Clovis, New Mexico
