The presence of well-preserved food and domestic items provides an unprecedented look into the lives of hunter-gatherers exploiting the resources of the Snake River Plane. Plant remains include cattails and rushes documenting the importance of the shallow ephemeral ponds additionally confirmed by the presence of waterfowl bones. Other small game includes rabbits and rodents along with fragments of snares likely used to procure them. Large game evidence is limited to a few bison bone fragments (photo used by permission of the Idaho National Laboratory and the Idaho Museum of Natural History).
