Image of Wahmuza8

A stated purpose for selecting Wahmuza for excavation was to compare the ethnographic record of the Northern Shoshone and Bannock to the archaeology of the late prehistoric when we are confident their direct ancestors were using the area. What was discovered is that the archaeology and the ethnography and completely consistent with each other therefore all the available information indicates that the people who occupied Wahmuza were, in fact, the direct ancestors of the Shoshone and Bannock.
