DESCRIPTION

Leaf-shaped spear or dart fluted points smaller than Clovis. Flutes are usually over half the length to nearly the full length of the point. Edges on the bottom half of the point are often ground smooth.

COMMON NAME

Folsom – wherever they are found throughout the Americas they are called "Folsom," named after the location of the early scientific excavations near Folsom, New Mexico
